Mumbo jumbo wiring project. Thinking I had made a cost effective good change to the Multistrada's rear turn signals by replacing the units with a Chinese made LED set, turned out to be not such a good idea. I made the change last year and it wasn't working well for two reasons. One being a very limited view angle of the flashing unit, as Moh had kindly let me know on a ride last year. The second issue was a fit problem with the mounting grove on the turn signal body. Basically, they flopped around and popped out, leaving one hanging by its wiring. Not exactly an upgrade. While repairing / replacing the LED signal lights back to stock, I noted that the license plate lamp was out.
So off to the local Auto Zone. The lamp was one of those torpedo looking bulbs that click in on both ends. Now do think that Auto Zone would have a bulb for a Ducati? It turns out that the bulb is a pretty common interior lamp bulb. I even had choices. So I went with the daylight LED bulb. Turned out just right. Now you will be able to see my plate numbers from a much farther distance! Is that a good thing, I think so right?
